HERBERT LEVIT Obituary
On Friday, April 1, 2016. Beloved husband of Barbara Levit; loving father of Deborah (Mark) Weingarden and David E. (Susan) Levit; grandpa of Jonathan Weingarden, Hilary Weingarden and Jacob Levit. Dr. Levit had a long career as a Clinical and Forensic Psychologist. He was Director of Psychology at Dixmont and Woodville State Hospitals and in private practice. He and his wife, Barbara traveled the world in birding expeditions and were enthusiastic bird watchers. Most important in his life were his wife, children and grandchildren to whom he was devoted. Services and Interment Private. Contributions may be made to Hadassah-Greater Pittsburgh Chapter, 1824 Murray Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217 or Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania, 614 Dorseyville Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15238. Arrangements entrusted to RALPH SCHUGAR CHAPEL, INC., Family owned and operated.

I will miss Dr. Levit. He was a good man that helped me (and his questions still help me). He was also the youngest nonagenarian I've ever met. A fine example of how to live well at any age.

Dear Barbara and family,
Dr. Levit will be so missed by us here at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Port Clinton, Ohio. We always enjoyed him and his wife's visits over the years and it was always a joy to see them so happy and enjoying bird watching together. Our thoughts are with you during this time.

Dear Barbara and Family:
I'm sorry to hear of the passing of Herb. I have many fond memories of Barb and Herb with my Parents and a beautiful picture of My mother Delores dancing with Herb at my daughter Amanda's Bat Mitzvah. May his life live on in the stories of your memories.
