THOMAS T. "SKAL"
Age 86, of O'Hara Township, formerly of Aspinwall, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. Beloved husband to Dorothy (Celender) Skalski and the late Lois (Truitt) Skalski; cherished father of Steve (Gwenn) Skalski, Gwen (Dennis) Muir, Bryan Skalski, and Grant Skalski; brother of the late Joseph, Frank, Raymond, Walter, Edward, Bernard Skalski, Cecelia Brush, and Valarie Cordisco; treasured grandfather to Kacey (Nate) Hoot, Molly (Steven) Roach, Jack Muir, and Mara Muir; adored great-grandfather to Nora Roach, Reagan Roach, and Henry Hoot. Tom was known as the former proprietor and co-founder of Tom & Tud's Tavern, Aspinwall for 45 years. Friends received Thursday, May 25, 2017, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Ave., Aspinwall, where a service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. followed by a gathering at Tom & Tud's immediately after the service. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Fisher House Foundation, 3945 Forbes Ave., Box 240, Pgh., PA, 15213.

Dear Skalski Family,
My sincere condolences to you all. I have know Tom and many of your family all of my life, from the time we were neighbors. Tom was a great friend of my parents and brothers. I am so sorry for your loss. Wishing the best to all of you in the upcoming days. I apologize for not visiting the funeral home, only saw this today. Tom certainly brought a smile to many faces, he will be remembered for his kindness and fun loving life.

Dulcy, Steve & family - I only found out yesterday about Tom's passing and I'm so sorry. A truly great man and a true Aspinwall institution that we will all miss. My family's condolences to you all.
