Age 84, of O'Hara Twp., passed away peacefully on Friday, July 13, 2018, in Wexford. He passed away from Alzheimer's/Dementia and was surrounded by his wife and family. Tom was born in Pittsburgh to Edward and Gladys (Howley) Ward on November 13, 1933. He went to school at Westinghouse High School. Tom owned and operated multiple full-service gas stations, including Tom Ward's Sunoco on Negley Avenue and Fox Chapel Sunoco on Fox Chapel Road, starting in 1956. Tom was known for his wit, generosity and humor. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He received numerous business awards and was involved in many charities and organizations. Tom hosted carwashes each weekend which supported many charities, organizations and sports teams. Tom is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn (Collins) of O'Hara Township, daughters, Kimberly Biernacki of Shaler, Kathie (Francis) Wiskeman of Allegheny Township, Tomilyn (David) Rowan of Hampton, and Dawn Ward of Sharpsburg. He is survived by brothers Richard, Francis "Pee-Wee", Martin, David, Edmund "Eddie" and sister Mary Ann (Quigg). He was grandfather to Zachary Biernacki, Alexis (Chad) Peate, Joshua and Jacob Wiskeman, Billy Kennington, Luke Cawley, Jesse Urbanek, Maya Reksinska, Elaina and Zaiden Rowan. He was great-grandfather to Harper Ann Peate due to arrive in August. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karie (Doug) Cawley; grandson, Jacob Biernacki; brothers, John, Edward; and sister, Gladys (Walker). Friends received Monday, July 16, 2018, from 2 p.m. until the 7 p.m. service at WEDDELL-AJAK FUNERAL HOME, 100 Center Ave., Aspinwall. Interment is private. Memorial donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Good Samaritan Hospice House of Wexford.
