Passed away on October 10, 2018 in his home in Cecil after fighting a courageous battle with cancer in the arms of his loving wife of 38 years, Jamie Jansante Butkus, who retired as a Reading Specialist from McGuffey School District. He was born on October 7, 1943, the son of the late Stanley and Mary Butkus. Stanley was a 1961 graduate of Chartiers Valley High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force. He went on to become a police officer with Scott Township, where he retired as the Chief of Police after 43 years. Since his retirement in 2008, he enjoyed traveling with his wife. Stanley is a member at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Canonsburg. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his two children: his son, Stanley Butkus; and his daughter, Cheryl Scala; a stepson, Brian Konya; a sister, Barbara Pollock; grandson, Dylan; and three step-granddaughters, Allison, Madeline, and Lila Konya; and many cousins, nephews and nieces. A family private family remembrance will be held at a future date. Memorials in honor of Stanley may be made to St. Jude's Children's Cancer Fund at stjude.org. Arrangements have been entrusted to SALANDRA FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD owner/supervisor and Darla A. Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120. Cheryl and Stush,
I am very sorry for your loss! I believe if you could read your father's mind his thought would have been one as this:
"How beautiful to find a heart that loves you, without asking you for anything, but to be okay :
You showed true love to him always!! Be proud as I'm sure he was!
Love
Tracey
