ROBERT REESE
Robert Reese Schoenberger, of Connoquenessing, PA, departed this life June 12, 2004. Robert was born on September 1914 in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Perry High School and later married Virginia Jones, also of Pittsburgh. He retired from Alling & Cory Paper Co. (now International Paper) in 1980. During his distinguished career with Alling & Cory he received "Salesman of the Year" award several times. Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his two loving and devoted daughters, Rose Marie Patterson and Roberta Jean Schoenberger, both of Chesapeake, VA; a granddaughter Cara Bloom and her daughters, Stella and Addie Bloom of West Hartford, CT; as well as a host of wonderful friends, neighbors, and former students. Robert loved life; especially jazz, animals, nature, and thoroughly enjoyed sharing and teaching his stained glass classes. He taught at Butler Community College, the Hoyt Institute of Art in New Castle, PA and Generations Together sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh. He was an active member of the Associated Artists' of Butler County where many of his stained glass lamps have been on display as well as in other shops and galleries in the tri-state area. Robert faithfully attended St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Butler. Robert believed in "giving back" to the communities in which he resided and served tirelessly on various committees and boards. He was always active in community affairs. He was one of the original members of the Cranberry Township Water Authority and later served on the Connoquenessing Water Authority. For many years he was involved in the Butler County Association for Retarded Citizens. Memorial donations may be made in his name to St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Butler or the Associated Artists of Butler County. A Memorial Service will be held September 25 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Butler @ 3 pm.

Can't help not thinking of Robert every night. I am the proud owner of one of his most beautiful stained glass lamps which he named the " Peruvian Prince" It is a floral design of 425 pieces of stained glass. It is a very meaningful piece because I was also a student of his and was ever grateful to him for his patience in teaching me the art of stained glass. I am pleased that somehow you were able to contact me via e-mail. It is my pleasure to remember him as a very fine person and artist. Nancy McNamara

I took one of Mr. Schoenberger's stained glass classes at the Art Center and I was so impressed by his artistry and knowledge. He was a very kind man. I didn't complete my project but some day I will and it will be my remembrance of him. To his family, please accept my sympathy and prayers.

My sincere condolences to Bob's family.

I was truly amazed at this man at his most recent age teaching classes, frequently helping out at the Butler Art Center and continuing to craft stain glass lamps.

I am the proud owner of one of his lamps and I will surely treasure it as well as the memory of Bob.

He had a great sense of humor!

Bob was a great friend to my father and myself. Bob helped the Associated Artists of Butler County (AABC) in many ways. Bob and Elmer Holmes made certain that the darkroom was expanded, and all photographers who use this space are indebted to him. When he was called upon to help, Bob always was a willing worker. He will be greatly missed.

To his daughter Rose, whom I went to High School, what a beautiful obituary. I'm sure he will be missed by all, but what an impact he must have had on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
