NANCY JAYNE
Died October 31, 2002. Beloved dance master, teacher and former owner of Fairgrieve School of Dance. She was the daughter of the late Henry Abbott Heriot and Ruth Anna Marion Fairgrieve Heriot; sister of the late James Fairgrieve Heriot; survived by her sister-in-law Mary Louise Heriot of Wheeling, WV, brother and sister-in-law William Abbott and Vilma De Jesus Toledo Heroit of Waynesville, OH; nephews, Lt. Col. James Heriot M.D. and wife Gwyn of Gulf Breeze, FL, William Heriot Jr. and wife Mai Ling of Novato, CA; great-nephews, Shawn DeBoi of Columbia, SC, Stephen DeBoi of St Augustine, FL, Paul-David Aiello, Robert Heriot, James Louis Heriot, William Ling Heriot; nieces, Ruthanne Heriot of Harper's Ferry, WV, Susan and husband Paul Aiello of the Isle of Palms, SC, Nancy Joan and husband Randy Osborn of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Dominic and husband Jonathan Masstrangello of Baltimore, MD; great-nieces, Paola Andrea Heriot, Julia Aiello, Jennifer Heriot, Amy Heriot and Anna Aiello; and great-great-niece, Annamaria Heriot; God-Daughter, Allison McGrath of Gibsonia, PA; and Nancy's beloved Shelties Buffalo and Shuffle; all the dancers of the Fairgrieve School of Dance: her award winning Highland Dancers, friends, business associates and alumni of Fairgrieve School of Dance. Nancy went to Sterrett School and graduated from Winchester Thurston where where she was active in sports and Captain of the Basketball Team (Stretch). She attended Bouve Boston School and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Carnegie-Mellon University. She worked for the Mellon Institute and U.S. Steel Corporation in the Research Lab Dept. in Monroeville for 21 years. She was the former owner and master teacher of the Fairgrieve School of Dancing. She studied under (her late mother) Ruth Fairgrieve Heriot, Peter Genaro, Jack Stanley, Carlos, and Al Gilbert. The Pittsburgh Savoyards were among the many theatrical productions Nancy Danced. She was a member of Dance Masters of America and Professional Dance Teachers Association. She taught all aspects of dancing, specializing in tap, jazz and Scottish Highland Dancing. She was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church, a church camper and track star of Calvary Church Camp. Member and trophy winner golfer at Churchhill Valley Country Club. She was an avid golfer, downhill skier, dancer and athlete. She will be sorely missed by all. Arrangements by FINDLAY C. WYLIE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 11311 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills.
