Bart Smith Obituary
Bart Allen Smith, 53, of Idaho Falls, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at his home.
He was born in Lewiston, Idaho, to Robert J and Luana B. Smith on Dec. 5, 1958, the youngest of five children. Shortly after Bart was born, the family moved back to Iona, where Bart attended school, church, played sports and graduated from Bonneville High School.
Bart loved to hunt, fish, golf and bowl. As a family, they were avid skiers and loved to snowmobile. He coached baseball and football and was a sports officiator. But Bart's favorite pastime was following his brother, John L's, college football teams wherever he was coaching, and of course, following his nephew Alex Smith's NFL career at the 49ers. Bart's pride and joy has been his son, Skylar, and his granddaughter, Brinly.
At the time of his death, Bart was working at TMC Construction as an equipment operator.
Bart was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J and Luana B. Smith.
He is survived by his son, Skylar; granddaughter, Brinly; and siblings, Dick, John, Doug and Janet.
A celebration of Bart's life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Calvary Chapel, 4250 S. 25th East in Idaho Falls. Please join the family for lunch following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary.

We ponder why God would take such a great person from us so soon but we may be the selfish ones. We enjoyed so much seeing his smiling , happy face and had so many plans with him we will so miss. God had a special place for Bart and I truly think now he is our special angel watching over us all because Bart was a true angel in our lives everyday in everyway....bless you buddy

I think I'm still in shock! Bart and I fought like brother and sister. But some of ny favorite childhood memories were with Bart. We would make each other cry, till one of us walked home. But, we also made each other laugh till neither of us wanted to go home. Sending you all peace, love, and comfort.
