I remember Mike was always ready for new adventures. A dream of his and Wendy's was to live on their own boat and sail around the world. I remember when they were in New Orleans, had their boat, went sailing on the Lake one afternoon. A squall came up, the daylight faded. They fought through the night, trying to get to shore, wondering when or if they'd make it. As morning came, the winds dropped and they made it back, soaked and exhausted.
When they moved to Florida, they bought a bigger boat and were able to live on it, they knew they weren't ready to sail around the world yet.
Before they moved to Florida, Mike and Wendy had their house built in Star, had a great garden, their dog, Baron, kitty, and chickens. I was sad when they decided to move to Florida and try a boat again.
I remember Mike's talent for computers, inventing games, writing computer programs when that was a brand new field, and his computer magazine. What a talented man.
I am so sad that he lost his fight with cancer. My thoughts, love and prayers are with all his family and with Wendy, too.
