He grew up in Bonesteel, S.D. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Bob worked 33 years as a telephone man and after retirement he found a new career as a mailman.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Freda Mae in March 2008, his parents and brother John.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law Becky and Michael Brown of Bokoshe, Diana Goins of Bokoshe, Lynn and Eric Donaho of Wister, grandchildren Kristi and Rickey McConnell, Jacki and Blain Blaylock, Josh Brown, Zach Brown and Ashlyn Donaho great-grandkids Madden and Harper McConnell and Kentsli, Zaybri and Nash Blaylock, sister Mary Johnson of Nebraska, other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020, at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau with Michael Monroe officiating.
Burial will follow at Old Bokoshe Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Butch Lovell, Mickey Haslip, Josh Brown, Zach Brown, Rickey McConnell and Blain Blaylock.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020, to visit with relatives and friends.
Because of Bob's love of reading, in lieu of flowers the family has requested that contributions be made to Spiro Public Library in his honor.
