ELWOOD H. KULP, 88, OF BOYERTOWN Elwood H. Kulp, 88, of Boyertown, formerly of New Hanover Township, widower of Edna S. (Moser) Kulp, died Saturday at Exeter Township. Born in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Henry and Bessie M. Kulp. He worked for Bethlehem Steel in Pottstown as a machine operator for 30 years and then for Superior Tube in Collegeville for 10 years. Elwood served in the U.S. Marines in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church Niantic in Barto. Elwood enjoyed growing orchids and enjoyed operating a HAM radio. Surviving are one son, Richard A. Kulp of Birdsboro; one daughter, Ruth Ann Matter, wife of Clair of Trout Run; one grandson, Todd Kulp of Birdsboro and one great-granddaughter, Raina. He was predeceased by one great-grandson, Justin Kulp. A funeral service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Barto, PA, on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Christ Union Cemetery-Niantic.
