Evelyn Yeagle Obituary
Evelyn M. Yeagle, age 95, died Friday, May 11, 2018, at her Peter Becker Community home, in Franconia Township. She was a former Towamencin Township and Collegeville resident.
Evelyn was born on December 2, 1922, in Collegeville, to the late George and Violet (Poley) Yeagle. She was a 1940 graduate of Collegeville – Trappe High School.
Evelyn retired in 1984, as executive director of Montgomery County Agriculture Stabilization & Conservation Service, US. Dept. of Agriculture, after 43 years with the department. She was a member of the Assn. of Federal, State, and County Office Employees, serving as PA secretary and director of the 13 state Northeast Area. She also was a past president of the Central Perkiomen Business & Professional Women's Club.
Evelyn was a lifelong member of Augustus Lutheran Church, where she sang in choir for 55 years. She also sang with the Norristown Octave Club and the Village Singers, the Schwenkfelder Community Choir, at the Ocean Grove, NJ, Choir Festival, and was a guest wedding soloist. She was an actor and production assistant with Dutch Country Players.
Evelyn is survived by her brother, Paul K. Yeagle, and many, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, George Yeagle, Edna Yeagle, Donald Yeagle, Grace Guest, and David Yeagle; and her companion, Raymond Miller.
A memorial service will be held at Noon, Wednesday, May 16, in the chapel at Peter Becker Community, 800 Maple Ave., Franconia Township Memorial contributions may be made to Augustus Lutheran Church, 717 W. Main St., Trappe, PA 19426; or a . Arrangements are by Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe.
