Jeanne Kleinert Obituary
Jeanne S. Kleinert passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill with family members at her side. She was born March 14, 1922 the daughter of the late Elmer E. and Jennie (Geiger) Saylor. A native and longtime resident of Pottstown, PA, Jeanne graduated from Pottstown High School with the class of 1940. Afterwards, she earned her BA in Finance from Penn State University ’44 where she became a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Jeanne was a devoted Lutheran, formerly a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Pottstown and recently an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Shiremanstown. Jeanne’s love for travel took her extensively through Europe, the Far East and many National Parks across the USA. Although she traveled the world, her favorite place was at the shore. From childhood she fondly spent annual vacations at Ocean City, NJ and nearby beaches. Jeanne was an avid Bridge player and an enthusiastic Philadelphia sports fan. Most of all she enjoyed cheering for the Phillies and her alma mater Penn State football. Holding a lifelong passion for reading, Jeanne was a volunteer at the Simpson Library in Mechanicsburg. She also enjoyed attending many performances at the Harrisburg Symphony. Jeanne was preceded in death by her loving husband Carl J. Kleinert, brother Richard F. Saylor and sister Gladys Shay. Surviving are her four children Andrew J. Kleinert and wife Marcia of Warren, PA; Stephen S. Kleinert and wife Donna of Ephrata, PA, Connie K. and husband Leroy R. Miller Jr., Kenneth C. Kleinert and wife Jodi all of Mechanicsburg; she loved and adored her 8 grandchildren; Bradley (Tarah), Brian (Candice), Kate, Brent, Kyle Miller, Abby Miller, Sarah and Molly Kleinert; and her 3 great-grandchildren, Parker Jeanne, Quinn Charlotte and Channing Kleinert. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 16th 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Shiremanstown. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at Mt. Zion Mausoleum, Pottstown. A visitation and time of fellowship with the family will take place immediately following the service at the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jeanne’s name may be directed to the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library, 16 N.
