Margaret Haitz Obituary
Margaret Ann “Peggy” Bechtel Haitz, age 77, of Elizabethtown, PA, formerly Royersford, PA passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 in Masonic Village at Elizabethtown. She was the wife of 58 years to Henry B. Haitz Jr., whom she married on May 14, 1960 in Royersford. Born on December 16, 1940 in Pottstown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Jeannette (DePietropaolo) Bechtel. Mrs. Haitz was a graduate of Spring-Ford High School, class on 1958, where she was a member of the first girls field hockey championship team. She was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Royersford, where she volunteered on several committies. Peggy retired as the office manager from Plotts Brothers Fuel Oil Company in Royersford. She was a member of the Soroptomist Club of Pottstown. She was a caring, outgoing, fun-loving person that easily made friends wherever she went. She enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Aruba, Ocean City, NJ, and trying her luck at the casinos. In addition to her husband, Peggy is survived by two children, Beth Ann (Douglas E.) Bilheimer of Elizabethtown, PA and Henry B. Haitz III (Tina M. Kelley) of Lakewood Ranch, FL; three grandchildren, Scott D. Bilheimer of Hummelstown, PA, Cara B. Bilheimer of Elizabethtown, PA, and Adam J. Kelley of Mount Pleasant, SC; twin sisters, Barbara A. (the late Roland V. Jr.) Mentzer and Carol A. (Eugene E.) Capoferri; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Lewis Road at Walnut Street, Royersford, PA on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Tadeusz Gorka. Burial will be held in the Fernwood Cemetery, Royersford. Friends will be received from 8:30 am - 10:15 am Friday at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Central PA Chapter, 3009 Market St, Camp Hill, PA. 17011.
