EARL B. BARTMAN, 89, OF POTTSTOWN Earl B. Bartman, 89, of North Adams Street, Pottstown, widower of Lorraine A. (Mest) Bartman, passed away on Wednesday March 9, 2016 at his residence. Born in Linfield, PA, he was a son of the late Earl R. Bartman and the late Dorothy (Overholtzer) Bartman. Earl worked as a supervisor for Spring City Knitting for 15 years retiring in 1982, also Yocum Knitting retiring in 1994, and also Lincoln Underwear Co. He served in the Army during World War II. Earl was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Pottstown, a lifetime member of Phillies Fire Co., Gablesville Club, and Keystone Fire Co., Boyertown. He is survived by two sons, Emett Bartman, Frazer Park, CA, and Mark Bartman, Frazer Park, CA; a brother, Thurman Bartman, Lewes, DE; five step daughters, Bonnie, Connie, Cheryl, Barbara and Janet; two grandchildren, and six step grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Marlene Bartman; two step grandsons, Dennis Rubright Jr. and Frank W. Vroman Jr., a fiance, Ruth R. (Rhymer) Martin, and a sister, Margaret “Peggy” (Bartman) Dry. Services will be private. Burial will be private in Union Cemetery, Boyertown. There will be no viewing. Contributions may be made in his memory to Pottstown Memorial Medical Center Regional Cancer Center, 1600 E. High St., Pottstown, PA 19464.
