Philipovich
BEACON, NEW YORK - Aloysius V. Philipovich, a longtime Beacon resident, passed away at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh on February 21, 2013. He was 82.
Born in Lansford, Pennsylvania on June 12, 1930 Aloysius was the son of Joseph and Elizabeth Janicek Philipovich. Aloysius married the former Josephine DiMattia. Mrs. Philipovich predeceased Aloysius in 2000. Aloysius proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired in 1988 from IBM in East Fishkill. He was a member of Lewis Tompkins Hose Company for over fifty years and was also past president and a member of the fire police. He was a member of the Beacon Elks Lodge 1493. Aloysius enjoyed fishing, golfing and fixing everything that was broken. He loved to see his friends at the Yankee Clipper Diner.
Aloysius is survived by his daughters, Frances Stevens and her husband, Timothy of Wallkill and Janet Pomarico and her husband, Donald of Beacon; his grandchildren, Kimberly Elias and her husband, Jonathan, Kristal Walden and her husband, Josef; his great grandchildren, Marina and Tye Elias and Nathanyel Walden; his sister, Elizabeth Bennek of Beacon.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
