FORT PIERCE, FL - Gerald "Jerry" T. Martin, 69, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 at St. Lucie Hospice House in Fort Pierce, FL.
He was born on May 1, 1943 in The Bronx, NY and moved to upstate New York in 1985. He recently came to live in Fort Pierce with his devoted and beloved companion of 39 years, Barbara.
Jerry is survived by his companion Barbara Smith; children Donald Smith and his wife Elizabeth; Lynne Smith, Lauren Davis and her husband Robert; Daniel Smith, and John and JoAnn Bates; 7 grandchildren Victoria Stracquadanio and her fiancé Matthew Doughty, Anthony Stracquadanio, and their father Michael Straquadanio; Steven, Donald, and Brittney Smith, and Tyler and Kyle Bates; and nieces and nephews in Long Island, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania; and his very special friends in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Ohio, New York, and Florida; and brother in law Bill Petro of Fort Pierce.
Jerry was a Class A Mechanic. He loved his family, friends, and his Mustangs. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, and Boston Red Sox Fan.
A Celebration of Jerry's Life will be held this spring in New York.

Jerry was one of our best friends . A man who knew how to give to others - He was so funny with the best sense of humor and could match anyone with a good story. His laugh was contagious . We love you Jerry and we will miss you terribly. Charlie is going to miss playing golf with you ..
