Fred Koch
Wappingers Falls - Fred Koch, 87, of Wappingers Falls, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center.
He was born in New York City on November 3, 1925, the son of Louis and Cecilia Schultz Koch. Mr. Koch served in the U.S. Merchant Marines from 1941 to 1952, and the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.
He was married for 60 years to Patricia Winterer who survives at home.
A former resident of White Plains, Fred was employed as a machinist at Hydra-Power in New Rochelle. He was a member of St. John's Luthern Church, Poughkeepsie. Both Fred and his wife Pat enjoyed volunteering at the Food Pantry at Zion Church, & the former Hudson Haven Nursing Home in Wappingers Falls.
He is survived by his wife Pat, sons Steven P. & Linda Koch and their children Laura and Pamela, Robert & Nadine Koch and their children Catherine and Nathaniel, all of Wappingers Falls.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial services will be held at St. John's Luthern Church, 55 Wilbur Blvd., Poughkeepsie at 11 a.m. on February 21, 2013. Pastor Daniel B. Ward officiating. Cremation Poughkeepsie Rural Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Food Pantry at Zion Church, Satterlee Place Wappingers Falls, N.Y. 12590.

The Children's Ark Preschool Staff would like to offer their prayers to the Koch family. Mr. Koch's Granddaughter Catherine "Kit Kat" attends our school and she shared with her teachers and her classmates many special memories of her beloved Grandfather and we are sure he is smiling down on her from heaven.
