Richard L. Montville

Town of Poughkeepsie - Richard L. Montville, 83, of the town of Poughkeepsie, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2013.

He was born in Manhattan September 27, 1929, the son of the late Harold H. and Madeline Barry Montville.

Mr. Montville was a policeman with NYPD for 20 years, in the 23rd precinct, retiring as a sergeant in 1974. He was a member of Sgt. Benevolent Association. Mr. Montville served in the Korean War, stationed in Germany with the 2nd Armor division from 1950 to 1952.

He enjoyed volunteering at Mt. Alvernia in Wappingers Falls.

Surviving are his brother, John B. Montville of the town of Poughkeepsie.

Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, thursday 2 to 6 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
