Donna Pecchia Acampora

LAGRANGEVILLE - Donna Pecchia Acampora, 55 of LaGrangeville, NY went to God surrounded by her loving family on February 17, 2013. Donna was born in Poughkeepsie on May 31, 1957 to Paul and Gloria Pecchia . She is survived by her parents, her spouse Enrico Acampora, her beloved son Christopher, daughter Nicolina and step daughter Jenna. Also surviving are her sister Paula Pecchia-Korosi , her husband James Korosi of Highland and their children Alexander and Adriana. Her brother Paul Pecchia Jr, his wife Fedora of Patterson and their children Gina and Matthew and Michael Pecchia of Florida, and her brother Christopher Pecchia, his wife Elena of Montrose, NY and their children Camelia, Joseph and Thomas.

She was an Executive Accounting -Finance Professional who was instrumental in developing Hospice in the bi-county region. She dedicated over 14 years to meeting the needs of our community. She was also the owner/operator of Perini's Restaurant in Arlington, with her mother Gloria and her sister Paula. She was Controller of the St. Regis in NYC and the St Georges Club in Bermuda. Her source of fun was fishing, horseshoes, camping and most loved the sun, beach and cooking most of all. Her greatest pride in life was her children and her family.

Donna was part of a large loving family who will miss her dearly. She leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins. She will leave a huge void in many people's lives.

Donna fought the battle and showed us all how to live and die in dignity. Her strength this last year was incredible. She is going to be our most beautiful angel. For those that know and love her when she entered a room she would say hello, hello, hello ---we say we love you ..untill we see you again …

Calling hours will be held on Thursday Feb 21st from 2-4 and 6-9pm at the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc. 218 Mill Street, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Wheelchair entrance is located in the rear of funeral home on Vassar St.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday Feb. 22nd at St. Martin de Porres Roman Catholic Church located at 118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie, NY.

Burial will follow at St. Peters Cemetery , Poughkeepsie, NY.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the college scholarship fund for her children. Make checks payable to Christopher Pecchia 1 Marian Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
