Kenneth T. Rauch

Poughkeepsie - Kenneth T. Rauch, 81, of Poughkeepsie, NY., passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Lutheran Care Center. Born in Newburgh, NY., on September 17, 1932 he was the son to the late Louis Rauch and Lillian Gloster.

Kenneth was a lifelong area resident and was a teacher for the Poughkeepsie School District for many years until his retirement until 1995. Kenneth also was retired form K-Mart and The McCann Memorial Golf Course. Kenneth also served as a Marine in the Korea War. He was a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star recipient.

Kenneth was a member of the Elks Club, American Legion and the Marine Corps. League. He was also a little league Baseball coach in Lagrange as well as a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts in Lagrange.

Kenneth is survived by his former wife Nancy Rauch Kovalik, daughter, Katherine Palome of Poughkeepsie, NY., son, Patrick Rauch of Red Hook, NY., and son, Keith Rauch of Wappingers, NY., sister Patricia Vitelli and grandchildren, Mariah, Paul, Anna-Marie, Anthony, Matthew, Michael, Marisa and Stephanie. Kenneth was predeceased in life by his two sons Kevin and David. The family would also like to send a special thanks to the staff on 2North at the Lutheran Care Center.

Calling hours will take place at Timothy P. Doyle FH Inc. 371 Hooker Avenue Poughkeepsie, NY., 12603 on Thursday, May 8 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will tale place Friday, May 9 at St, Martin de Porres Church at 10am. Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
