Loretta J. Tantillo

Highland, NY - Loretta Jane Tantillo passed away from this world to enter into her eternal life in heaven on Thursday morning November 29, 2012. Born on August 25, 1939 in Manhattan, NY, she was the daughter of Arne and Winifred (Jarvis) Fridstrom.

Loretta and husband Joseph lived in Highland where they raised their four children together. She was a stay at home mom who did it all. She was the anchor of her family and was always available for them. Every night she prepared a great dinner while maintaining the inside of her home, cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry. She also mowed the lawn and trimmed the hedges while her husband, Joe, worked a full-time and part-time job year around.

Loretta was a great friend to all. You were always welcome into her home. She was never too busy to sit and talk with you at her kitchen table. Loretta had a good sense of humor and it was always a great pleasure to be in her company. Her favorite saying was, "Wake up and smell the coffee".

She is predeceased by her husband Joseph Tantillo, survived by her daughter, Tina Gersch and husband Jeff; her son Christopher Tantillo and wife Lori; her daughter Lisa Longendyke and husband Joseph; daughter Gina McCarthy and husband Thomas; step son Joseph Tantillo predeceased by his wife Sandra; and BFF Michelle Rebele who was there for her always. Grandchildren Eden and Jeffrey Gersch, Elizabeth Tantillo, Tamara Longendyke, Gino (Tantillo) Watson, Thomasina McCarthy, Alyssa Romano, Nicole, Collette, Mario Tantillo and great-granddaughter Gia Tantillo. Surviving siblings; Linda Tricarrico of North Carolina, Helen Silvers of North Carolina, Bonnie Lanigan of New Jersey, Arne Fridstrom of Brooklyn, David Fridstrom of San Diego and many more loving family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Chapel Highland, 64 Vineyard Avenue, Highland, on Saturday, December 8th at 4 PM.
