AUSTIN, TX - Arthur A. Scott, Jr., 80, died January 5, 2012.

Born June 2, 1931 in Houlton ME, to Arthur A Scott, Sr. and Doris Brewer Scott, he joined the US Air Force in 1948 and was stationed at Stewart Field in Newburgh, NY.

In 1951 he married Janet Bauer. While living in Poughkeepsie, Art worked for the US Post Office, IBM, and Robert Boice Paper Co. He was a great bowler. The Pok. Journal referred to him as "Art the Pro" when writing of his scores.

He moved to FL in 1981, then to NV in 1998, and lastly to TX in 2006. There, at his apt complex, he became known as "The Mayor of the Ole Georgian".

Art predeceased his wife Janet and his son Jeffrey Bauer Scott. His survivors include two daughters, Alice Anderson of Salisbury, CT and Janie (Ratface) Ridgeway of Georgetown, TX, a son Arthur A Scott, III of Poughkeepsie, brother, Ronald Scott of Washburn, ME, and a sister-in-law Mary Scott in Madawaska, ME, his nieces and nephews, Billy, Barbie, Share and Murph. Art has 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grands. Honorary pallbearers are Arthur A Scott, IV of Poughkeepsie, NY, Terry and Ed Algermissen of Boynton Bch, FL, Dick Blackburn and Robin Wood of Georgetown, TX. Graveside service will be July 20th at 11am at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
