Caitlin Murphy Nash

Portland, OR - Caitlin Murphy Nash, 35, passed away on September 30, at her home in Portland, Oregon, surrounded by her family, after a 5 month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Caitlin was born on February 17, 1983 in Sharon, Connecticut, the daughter of Dr. Michael and Nancy Turletes Murphy of Millbrook, NY. On September 19, 2016 in Portland, she married Paul Neilson Nash at their home in Mt. Tabor Park, amidst towering Douglas fir trees. She attended Millbrook public schools and graduated from the Millbrook School. She received a B.A degree and her M.A. in Mental Heath Counseling from Lewis and Clark College in Portland. She worked as a child and family therapist for Lifeworks, in Portland, counseling children and teens.

In addition to her husband and parents, Caitlin is survived by her brother, Ryan Murphy of Millbrook; her sister, Sarah Santner and husband Darian and sons Samuel and Peter of Portland, Oregon; her brother Matthew Murphy and wife Maura and children Owen and Maren of Minneapolis, Minnesota; her brother-in-law John Nash and his wife Sophie and daughters Talulah and Wilhelmina of Portland; Paul's parents Jock Nash and Peri Mahaley of Northern Virginia; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and her dog Josie.

Caitlin was kind and gentle, a people person, who always had time for others. When you were with her she gave you her complete attention. She loved gatherings and was known for hosting a weekend long "summer camp" every year for her friends at her home in Mt. Tabor Park. Caitlin was a loving wife, daughter, sister, friend, a wonderful aunt and a gifted therapist. She had been married only two years to her loving husband, Paul.

She is greatly missed.

A funeral mass will be offered on Saturday, November 10th at 10:00 at St. Joseph's Church in Millbrook followed by burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery. A memorial service and reception will follow at the Millbrook Golf and Tennis Club in Millbrook.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dougy Center, PO Box 86852, Portland, Oregon, 97286. The Dougy Center offers support for children, teens and young adults who are grieving.
