Stanley Rydzak Obituary
Stanley Rydzak

POUGHKEEPSIE - Stanley Rydzak, 61, passed away on May 11, 2018. Stanley was born in Szarwark, Poland. At the age 7 he immigrated with his parents and siblings to Poughkeepsie, New York, where he attended St. Joseph's School, Holy Trinity, and Our Lady of SLourdes. He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Bachelors of Science in electrical engineering, digital circuit design, and software engineering. After graduation, he was employed by Smith Corona Cortland and subsequently Pitney Bowes where with his quiet dedication and patience he engaged in pioneering work on electric typewriters and computerized postal scales and was granted several innovative patents. Stanley was strongly devoted to both his family and his Polish heritage throughout his life. While working at Smith Corona Cortland and Pitney Bowes, he was able to remain close to his dear parents, Julian and Mary Rydzak. After his early retirement, he moved to Illinois to take care of his beloved mother Mary for several years before her passing. After her passing, Stanley moved to Tennessee to remain close with his family and spend cherished time with his sister Dorothy, brother-in-law Joe, and nephew Conor. Stanley was a proud and loving uncle who was adored by his nephews and nieces, a patient caretaker of loved ones, and a peaceful man who appreciated meditative walks and laughing over televised wrestling matches with his family. He is survived by his brother Edward Rydzak, sisters Genevieve Appelgate and Dorothy Dolan, brother-in-laws Jeffrey Applegate and Joseph Dolan, sister-in-law Nancy Rydzak, and his nieces and nephews Jason, Michael, Alex, Daria, Aundrea, Mary, and Conor. Stanley will be sorely missed by his family who loved him dearly and who will continue to carry his love in their hearts

Visitation will be Friday, May 18 from 6-8 pm at Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, May 19 at 10 am from St. Joseph's Church, 9 Lafayette Pl., Poughkeepsie. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
