Anna May Hertzog-Romig Obituary
Anna May "Busie"

WAPPINGER - Anna May "Busie" Hertzog-Romig, 84, a lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley, died on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Shamokin, PA on March 8, 1930, she was the daughter of John and Bertha Hertzog. Busie had been employed as the Senior Operator for AT&T in Carmel until her retirement. Busie also was a member of the IBM Retirees and a lifetime member of AT&T Pioneers. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting. She loved the Lifetime channel and watching classic movies.

Busie is survived by her children, Bernice Romig of Wappingers Falls, Janice Rickard and her husband Kevin of Poughkeepsie, and Frederick Romig and his wife Linda of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Kevin and Jack Rickard, Mary Phillips and her husband, Jeremy; Max, Anna, and Rosie Rickard; Clifford 'Kip' and Kathleen Farrier; her great-grandchildren, Olivia Phillips, Victoria, Belen, Alejo and Johnny Rickard; and her beloved dog, Precious.

A woman of chic elegance and class, she approached each day with a drop of Chanel N°5 and her Chihuahua "Precious" at her side. She had a heart as pure and kind as her smile and a mischievous fondness for life as bright and playful as the constant twinkle in her stunning pale green eyes. But among all of Busie's exquisite worldly qualities, her voice was the most angelic. Her song is now with God, and infinitely in our hearts. Anyone who knew our Busie knows that one of her most impressive traits was her ability to remember absolutely everything. Busie never forgot a birthday, a conversation, or the last name (and nationality) of any person who passed through her life. So, take comfort in knowing that while Busie will never be forgotten, Busie will never forget you. Our family was blessed to have her; she comforted everyone from family members through sickness to grandchildren going through puberty.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5-7 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
