Michael J. O'Halloran

Highland, NY - Michael John O'Halloran, of Highland NY, (aka Mike, Mr. O, "the Happiest Man in Highland") passed away suddenly at home Tuesday evening May 27th.

Born on Nov. 21, 1928 in Brooklyn NY, he was the son of Tadgh and Kate O'Halloran.

Mike was a U.S. Army veteran and an active member of St. Augustine's Church for years. He held many jobs in local Highland businesses after his main career with the Bank of New York. Prior to his death, he made arrangements to donate his body to the Albany Medical Center for the advancement of science. Mike is now "attending" medical school.

Gregarious in nature & with a twinkle in his eyes, Mr. O' was a jolly comedian and always available to help family and friends at a moment's notice. His loves were his wife and family, a good joke, chocolate, and beer. Mike's hobbies included, bowling, reading, car maintenance, home repair and minor electrical work much to the consternation of his family and trained professionals.

Mike is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pauline, and by his children: Thomas and his wife Michelle, and their children Jesse, Gene & Connor; by Michael and his fiancé Karen, and her children Melia & Cole; by Margaret and her fiancé Marc; and by Paul and his wife Beverly, and their children Skye, Tadgh & Gilbert. He is also survived by his brother Hugh and sister Kathleen along with many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his older brother Tim and younger brother Daniel.

A memorial gathering and service will be held on Saturday, June 7th, at the First United Methodist Church, 57 Vineyard Ave in Highland, NY. Visiting hours will be held between 2 - 4 pm with a memorial service immediately afterward.
