LAGRANGE - Francis Charles Pomilla, 81, a resident of the Town of LaGrange, died peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Born on August 15, 1931 in Brooklyn, he was the son of Thomas and Mary McGinley Pomilla. Frank graduated from Bushwick High School in 1949. He then graduated from St. John's School of Pharmacy in 1953. Afterwards, he proudly served our country in the US Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated several pharmacies in the area including United Drug in Kingston, City Drug and Arlington Pharmacy in Poughkeepsie. He was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed playing pool.

In 1959, Frank married Irene B. Rasmussen of Copenhagen, Denmark, who survives at home. He is also survived by his sons, Thomas Pomilla, CAPT USPHS (Ret) and wife Dr. Neva Crogan-Pomilla, Robert Pomilla, Frank Pomilla, Kenneth Pomilla and wife Kristi; his daughter, Suzanne Liguori; his brother-in-law, Joseph J. Luna; his grandchildren, Ashley and Kristin Pomilla, Heather and Anthony Liguori, Mikhailei Ortiz, Arianna, Alexa and Frances Joan Pomilla; his great-grandchildren, Oliva and Julia; his nieces and nephews, Gina and John Maserjian, Joseph, Gregory and John Thomas Luna; many cousins; and too many friends and people who dearly loved him to count. He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Joan E. Luna; and his granddaughters, Madison and Angelina Pomilla.

He deeply and profoundly loved Irene, his wife of 54 years, and was a wonderful father. Frank will forever be remembered as a husband, father and friend to many and loved by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and loved by all he touched.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will follow at 8pm.

Memorial donations may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation (a non-profit organization dedicated to the research and cure of pancreatic cancer) in honor of Frank's sister, Joan Luna.
