Helen DeNitto Obituary
Poughkeepsie - Helen DeNitto of Poughkeepsie, New York died on July 21, 2013. She was 93.
Daughter of the late Katrina Sefrezyk Drebot and Peter Drebot, she was born in Manhattan, New York on November 10, 1919. She graduated from Washington Irving High School in 1936. On October 20, 1940 she married Anthony DeNitto. Together they built a home in Ronkonkoma, New York and raised their two children. They were married for 51 years, until his death on December 13, 1991. Helen was also predeceased by two brothers, John Drebot and Alexander Drebot and her son, James DeNitto, who died on September 8, 2011.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen DeNitto; her granddaughters, Laura DeNitto and Amy DeNitto; her daughter-in-law, Millie DeNitto; her nephew, Gabriel Iacino; and her niece, Rose Marie Gambino. She also leaves many wonderful friends at St. Anna Apartments, where she had lived since 2004.
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, with services following at 4:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions in Helen's name may be made to Hospice of Dutchess County, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.

I am so sorry to learn of your mother's passing. I know we haven't been in touch for forty-five years, but to have raised such an amazing daughter speaks so well of her. My condolences to your family.
