William T. Spencer Jr.

POUGHKEEPSIE - William T. Spencer Jr., 64 of Poughkeepsie, died on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, New York after a brief illness.

Born in Poughkeepsie on November 19, 1948, he was the son of the late William T. Spencer, Sr and Beulah Morgan Spencer. He was a graduate of Arlington High School and served his country with the US Army during the Vietnam War.

On April 19, 1975 at St. Martin de Porres Church, Poughkeepsie, William married Linda Pappas. Mrs. Spencer survives at home.

Bill was employed as a technician at IBM, East Fishkill for 30 years and retired January 2013.

In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by his 2 children; William T. Spencer III and his wife Elif of Rochester,NY and his daughter, Christine Callahan and her husband Daryl of Wappingers Falls; his 2 grandchildren, Madison and Liam Callahan of Wappingers Falls; his brother Phillip Spencer of Hyde Park; his sister Janice Smith of Hyde Park; nieces and nephews, Damian Hoff and wife Nikki of AZ., Cindy Ranalli and husband Randy of Hyde Park, Phillip Spencer Jr. of Staatsburg, Paula Roberts of Wallkill, Matt Spencer and wife Karen of Staatsburg, Suzanne McGuire of Hyde Park and Robert "Bobby" Smith of Hyde Park; and several grand nieces and nephews. William was a beloved husband and father and dear Papa to his grandchildren and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 10 from 4-8 pm at Parmele, Auchmoody & Schoonmaker Funeral Home, 110 Fulton Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday, October 11 at 10 am from St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Rd., Poughkeepsie. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
