Paul F. Williamson Obituary
Paul F. Williamson

Poughkeepsie - Paul F. Williamson of Wappingers Falls, NY passed away on June 12 at the New York State Veterans' Home in Montrose following a period of declining health. He was 94. Paul leaves behind his sons Philip Williamson of Paterson, New Jersey and Steven Williamson of Naples, Florida, his daughters Linda Williamson of Beacon, New York and Anita Williamson of Brooklyn, New York, and his six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Paul was predeceased by his wife Harriet Williamson, his sons Norman Williamson and Paul Williamson Jr., his sister Gladys Hawkins, and his brother Herbert Williamson.

Paul was born in Clarksville, Virginia and grew up in Brockway NY, just north of Beacon. He joined the Army-Air Force during World War II and was stationed around Great Britain and served as a driver and military policeman. In 2008, he was awarded five metals for his service in the war.

After the war, Paul worked for 28 years in quality control at IBM in Poughkeepsie and later in East Fishkill. After retiring from IBM, he remained active. Paul went back to work transporting vehicles throughout New York State for Greer Toyota in Fishkill. He also worked as a driver at the Newburgh Auto Auction. For much of his adult life, Paul enjoyed a successful career as a self-employed salesman serving small businesses throughout the Hudson Valley.

Paul and his wife lived in Beacon and later moved to Wappingers Falls where they raised their children. Family was the center of Paul's life. He doted on his wife and cared for her as her health declined. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always looked out for their wellbeing.

Following the passing of his wife in 2013, Paul moved to the Veterans' Home at Montrose. While there, he was active and outgoing, took a sincere interest in others, and was much beloved among the residents and staff.
