Bradford Miller Obituary

Sgt. Bradford Lee Miller, 39, formerly of Kalona, died Thursday August 12, 2010 in Thrapston, England.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, August 27, 2010 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Cosgrove with Reverend Edmond Dunn officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Cosgrove. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Lensing Funeral Service in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Bradford L. Miller Memorial Fund.
Bradford was born October 31, 1970 in Iowa City, the son of Wilson and Lois Gingerich Miller. He was a graduate of Mid-Prairie High School and had attended Kirkwood Community College.
Bradford enlisted in the US Army on September 19, 2005 and had reached the rank of Sergeant and was involved with Army Intelligence. He had served with AFRICOM in Africa and at the time of his death was stationed in England. Bradford wanted to make a difference in the world. He was twice awarded the Joint Meritorius Unit Award, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. His duty stations included Korea and the United Kingdom.
Prior to enlisting he worked in communications with MCI in Cedar Rapids and later he was employed by AW Welt Ambrisco Insurance in Iowa City. Bradford was gifted at computer technology and he enjoyed photography and gardening.
Survivors include his parents, Wilson and Lois Miller of Kalona; seven siblings, Ethel (Tim) Sieren of Keota, David (Peggy) Miller of Riverside, Jimmy (Jackie) Miller of Wellman, Brenda (Pat) Mougin of Cosgrove, Ken (Lori) Miller of Kalona, Mike Miller of Wellman and Deb (Kelsey) Redlinger of Kalona; and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
