Jerome Kellenberger
South Amana - Jerome "Jerry" Allan Kellenberger, age 78, of South Amana, passed away at his home July 27, 2018. Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Elder Kristie Yoder officiating. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Burial will be in the South Amana Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Jerry's name.
Jerry is survived by his wife Barb; two children Linda Gipple and Greg Kellenberger (Tammy), of South Amana; three grandchildren Ashley Kellenberger (Jake), Lucas Kellenberger and Andrew Kellenberger; one great-grandson Axel Vance; a grand dog Dallas; two brothers Gordon (DeAnna) Kellenberger and Pat (Kathy) Kellenberger; four sisters-in-law Myrna Leinart, Francis (Jesse) Gomez, Mary (Bill) Kreis, and Gini (Gene) Possehl; and many nieces and nephews and their families and life long friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law Bob Leinart and a nephew Mark Leinart.
Jerry was born December 27, 1939 in South Amana, and lived in the same house his entire life. He attended Amana High School. On November 12, 1960, he married Barbara Eleanor Misel at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Jerry was a life long resident of South Amana. He worked at the Amana Society Bakery, the farm department, service company, the Woolen Mill, Myer's 66, Butch's Repair and helped out elderly neighbors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, wrenching on old cars, listening to the Sunday morning radio show "WMT Variety Time" very loudly, fixing anything that was broken and watching the Chicago Cubs. The family requests casual dress for the visitation and the funeral service.
