Butch Barnes Obituary
Butch Barnes, 69, of Mountainburg passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019, at his home. He was born March 8, 1950, in Fayetteville to the late Lowell and Betty Barnes. He was a cattleman, worked in real estate, attended Mountainburg First Assembly of God and served as a justice of the peace for Crawford County Quorum Court.
He is survived by two daughters, Casey Jo Bailey of Alma and Bailey Barnes of Grand Junction, Colo.; two sons, Nick Barnes of Grand Junction and Keagan Barnes of Alma; and six grandchildren.
Family-hosted celebration of life will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at Mountainburg First Assembly of God. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mountainburg First Assembly of God, P.O. Box 22, Mountainburg, AR 72946.

Urban Cowboy, that is what my son Jeff said when he just saw his picture here and me writing this. Butch was a cowboy. I don't think there was much he couldn't do up until his health started failing and even then he tried.
I hadn't seen him in years and when we ran into each other it was just like we had seen each other yesterday. He lived his life to the fullest at every age and in every chapter of his life. He loved each of his children and each of his wives deeply. When anyone was loved by Butch in his heart they knew that and felt that for a lifetime.
He was the best storyteller I have ever known. Butch Barnes you were a friend of mine and you will always be missed in my heart. Go Rest High on that mountain SON.

After Jim and I bought Butch's home and acreage, I called Butch and told him I needed a jenny to keep my jack company. In a few days Butch called and said, "Girl, I got you two of the purtiest jennies you ever saw." I laughed and told him to bring them on. For years I had Hillary and Chelsea to keep Gov Bill company because of Butch. Butch was a good man, whom I was privileged to call my friend. He will be missed my many and my prayers now go with his family as he has reached his eternal home. Amy White

My prayers are with you and your family! Butch loved all of his children so much! He was so very proud of you all! I knew him since I was 10, so 39 years. He was a true friend and always, always made me smile ! He told such great stories of his adventures in life! He was a loyal friend and always there for me! I wish I could be there for the celebration of his life, but I am a 25 hour drive away. I celebrate him in mind, heart and spirit, from Idaho Falls and send my love, deepest sympathies and hope for peace in your time of grief.
