Kelemecz, John
Endicott: On December 31, 2013, Heaven needed a very special angel, and that was you, John (Kelly) Kelemecz, 86, who held the hand of his brother Frank as he grabbed the hand of God that afternoon at Wilson Memorial Hospital. He had been fighting this monster we call Alzheimer's for about three years now and is finally at peace where he can release his soul and laugh once again. He was predeceased by his parents, Metro and Mary (Wolfe) Kelemecz, as well as three brothers, John, Peter and William (Arlene); and two sisters, Helen and Elaine (George Young). He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Annie Kelemecz; his daughter, Kathleen Mosier; a granddaughter, Charlsie Mosier; and his beloved wife and soulmate of 63 years, Irene (Mrva) Kelemecz. John was also surrounded by cherished caregivers, Dave Consol, Wayne Scott, Jason Kelsey, and Eric Martell; as well as many friends and family. While John walked this Earth he spent his days working at IBM to provide for his family. He was also a military man, having served in WWII in the United States Navy. When he was not at work you could find him on the golf course with his buddies or off somewhere fishing. Every year he would vacation to Clayton, NY with his wife, daughter and granddaughter, and in the winter months he would go down to North Carolina for an annual golf trip with his buddies. He was a man that seemed to know everyone and that always had the answers to whatever problem you brought to him. Today, Earth lost one of its greatest men but Heaven gained a truly deserving angel. The family would like to thank the open hearts of the Staff at Wilson Hospital North Tower 3 for their love and support during this Christmas season; as well as one of his beloved family friends, Shayla Fortner-Warous for reading to him during his days in the hospital. There are no words for the gratitude we have for his nephew, Roger Kelemecz and his wife Joyce who were by his side with his brother Frank and his wife Annie as he passed. And, as always, love > Alzheimer's. Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 8, 2014 at 11:00AM at Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church where Rev. Fr. Peter Tomas will celebrate the Funeral Liturgy. The family has chosen to remember John in life and will have no public calling hours. Please direct expressions of sympathy in memory of John to Yester Years Adult Day Care Program or to the Alzheimer's Walk of Binghamton.

Aunt Irene, Kathy and Charlsie,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many happy memories of Uncle Johnny when I was growing up - when our families were together for celebrations and holidays, times I spent at your house with your family, and when we'd all be together at Grandma's. I remember he had such a good sense of humor - he enjoyed "pulling your leg". He will be missed, and never forgotten. Rest in peace Uncle Johnny.

I still remember John outside, mowing or working on his lawn, stopping for a friendly chat. Taylor Avenue won't be the same without him! May he rest in peace.
