Norman Alderman Obituary

ALDERMAN, Norman C.

Norman Charles Alderman, 92, of Richmond, formerly of Binghamton, N.Y., passed away quietly at home March 25, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; son, James; and daughter, Dorothy; and is survived by three sons, Norman Jr., Richard Sr. and John Sr.; two daughters, Jeanette and Cheri; daughter-in-law, Donna; brother, Harry; special friends of the family, Tom and Shirley; numerous grandchildren, along with great and great-great-grandchildren. He graduated from Binghamton Central High School in 1939, married in May 1941, and joined the U.S. Army in 1943 to serve in the Pacific War. Returning home in 1945, he began a career in radio and TV repair and sales. He retired from Busbee Electronics, loved to fly and build free flight model airplanes with his sons, flying in many competitions around the country and Canada, winning numerous trophies and plaques. He also loved HO Trains, building layouts, designing beautiful buildings and scenery, and most of all running the trains to the delight of many a grandchild. The family would like to thank everyone associated with Hospice of Virginia, his nurses Mindy and Dante CNA, and also would like to thank caregiver, Barbara, with Care-Med, who spent alot of time discussing old movies with dad. A Memorial Ceremony will be held 11 am today, July 19, 2013 at Nimmonsburg United Methodist Church in Binghamton, Inurnment will follow at Spring Forest Cemetery in Binghamton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
