Hettel, Raymond
Vestal: Raymond Hettel, 72, of Vestal, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at his home. Raymond is predeceased by his parents, Victor and Anne Hettel; brother, Victor Hettel; his mother and father in-law, Harold and Mary Shattuck; and his grandson, Ryan Wheeler. Raymond is survived by his wife of 47 years, Haroldine (Shattuck) Hettel; daughters, Mary (Len) Wheeler, Kimberly Hettel and her fiancé David Osborne and Michelle Linville. His prized possessions were his grandchildren, Michael and Chris Wheeler, Kai and Victoria Raub, Mareena and Kiaira Linville. His newest addition was his great-grandson who he loved so much, Tyler Bixby; his sister, Kathy Hall; nieces and nephews, Mary Lou (Dave) Cherinko, James (Corinne) Conrow, Rick (Kristine) Conrow and Danielle (Tom) Pratt. Raymond was a Seabee in the United States Navy for 8 ½ years. He came back and worked construction for the rest of his life. His last employer was Fahs Construction where he had numerous friends who meant the world to him, including his best friend Mitch Stanton. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan but more than anything Raymond loved his family. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 157 Clark Street, Vestal, The Rev. John Kurgan celebrating. The family will receive their friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 765 Main Street, Vestal, Tuesday, February 19, 2013, from 4:00-7:00 p.m.

Ray AKA 'Dad' to many, was one of the most honest and sincere guys I've ever known. It was an honor to be such a good friend of his. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace buddy.
