Eggleston, Kyle
Kyle Eggleston, 62 of Binghamton passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. Family fulfilled Kyle's wish by opening a window for his spirit to pass onto the other side, leaving his pain behind as he entered eternal peace. Kyle was born January 13, 1951 to Joseph and Ann Eggleston who were waiting for him with open arms. Kyle is survived by sons Jason Eggleston, Brent (Becky) Eggleston and Kyle Eggleston and granddaughter Nicole. Also surviving Kyle are brothers Joseph and Debra Eggleston, Bruce and Ann Eggleston; sister, Dina and Keith Gurney; and special cousin who was like a brother, Fred (Brenda) Eggleston. Also survived by nephews Ben (Alisha), Stephen (Laura), Brendan, Jordan, Jeremy (Shawn), Ryan (Jennifer), Tim, Matthew, Justin, Thomas, Michael and Matthew; nieces Shannon (Jeff), Kyleen (Peter), Angela and Erica (Stephen). Kyle was an avid Yankee fan who made countless trips to Yankee Stadium. He loved a good poker or pitch game and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a quick and witty sense of humor and was a consummate jokester who looked at the humorous side of life above all. He was a friend to all wherever he went and loved his family unconditionally. He served in the Army and was a Viet Nam veteran. He retired from Broome Developmental Center in 2006. It was important to Kyle that his family was with him when he passed; we are so thankful that his wish was fulfilled. You will be missed beyond measure - pops, brother, uncle, grandfather, cousin and friend. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM Monday at Countryside Christian Chapel in Itasca. Friends of the family may call Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00PM at Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, New York 13778. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.

I worked with Kyle at BDC and we were close friends for a time... I haven't seen him for years and seeing this, this morning made me realize that we should never take for granted that the people we care about and don't see are doing fine. I never knew that he was even sick. My condolences to his family and farewell to an old friend.

To the Eggleston family
I'm sorry for the loss of your brother and to his sons for the loss of their dad. I was very shocked when I read this today that he had died. He was a good friend. I have missed not seeing him in quite awhile and now I will miss him more.I remember when I used to babysit the boys for him and their mom.
