Carle, John D. (Jack), Jr.

John D (Jack) Carle, Jr - 78, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, John D, Sr. and Catherine Carle; sisters Marjorie Kwitnieski, Kathleen Yavorski, and June Carle; son-in-law Mark Dribnak and daughter-in-law Karen Mason-Carle.

He is survived by his wife Connie (DeRigo) Carle, 6 children: John D. (Donna) Carle III of Millersville, PA; Thomas J. (Jo-Ann) Carle, Penn Laird , VA; James D. Carle, Oskaloosa, IA; Jodi Dribnak, Kathleen (Doug) Neiss, Binghamton, NY; and Tari (Mark) Cluck, Johnson City, NY.

He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, Siobhan Carle-Roma; Amanda, Morgan, Emily and Hannah Cluck all of Johnson City, NY; Garrett, Chelsea, Jaye and Micah Neiss, Mary Dribnak all of Binghamton, NY; John D. (JC) IV, Josh, and Katie Carle of Millersville, PA; Thomas J. (Haley) Carle II and Allyson Carle of Denver, CO and 3 2/3 great-grandchildren: Liam and Michael Roma, Lilah Wurth, and Thomas J Carle III(expected July 2013).

He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and playmate to the whole neighborhood. His greatest loves were his family - especially holidays and watching all the children playing in the pool. He coached the Binghamton Kiwanis Club Little League baseball team for many years. He was an avid hunter, especially opening day and the 1st week of deer season spent with his father at his cottage in Hancock, NY. In his later years his enjoyment in life was playing poker with his friends and going to the casinos: Turning Stone, Showboat (NJ), Tropicana (Las Vegas) and any other place he visited that had a blackjack table.

Jack retired from General Electric in 1992 after 38 years of service. He was an engineering specialist and supervisor of the engineering model shop. He was a member of the GE pistol team and a supporter of the NRA. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a member of the Johnson City Elks #2821.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Vincent DePaul/Blessed Sacrament Church, Clubhouse Road, Vestal, NY, Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at noon, following the Elks Lodge of Sorrows ceremony. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Johnson City Elks #2821 Scholarship Fund or the .
