Wheatley, Antoinette "Tona"

Antoinette "Tona" Wheatley, 93 of Endicott, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday November 21, 2012. She was born in Palmerton, PA and moved to Endicott, NY as a young girl where she enjoyed the rest of her years. Tona worked diligently at the Endicott Johnson Corporation for 48 years to provide for her family. To all who knew her, Tona was a woman of great strength and independence - surviving breast cancer for over 30 years. She was talented at knitting, baking and cooking. Tona's red velvet cake, halupki, pyrohy and kolachki were enjoyed by many and will live on through her legacy. Tona's grandchildren were the love of her life and gave her great joy. Tona was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Ernestine Bilik; brothers, Joseph and Anthony; twin sister, Mary; sister, Helen; nephew, David Bilik. She is survived by her loving family; sister, Mildred Russo; brother, Edward (Gerri) Bilik; sister-in-law, Stephanie Bilik; daughter, Sharon (John) Kotson; son, Thomas (Mary) Wheatley; nephews, Darrin (Melissa) Bilik, James Bilik, Michael Bilik; grandchildren, Michael (Stacey) Kotson, Ashley (Michael) Vaccaro; great-grandchildren, Avery-Grace & Aspen Kotson, and a host of friends and acquaintances. Tona was most grateful to Tom and Mary for their constant compassionate care, enabling her to live in the comfort of her own home for so long. Thank you to her caregivers from Wilson Memorial Hospital and Susquehanna Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their loving care as well. Funeral Services will be held Monday 12 Noon at the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc. 1905 Watson Blvd, Endicott with the Rev. Lisa Heckman, officiating. Burial will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Monday from 11 am until time of service at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to a charity of one's own choice.
