Frederick J. Durfee

Endicott - Frederick J. Durfee, 64, of Endicott passed away on February 25, 2021. Fred graduated from UEHS in 1975. He joined the West Corners Fire Department in 1974, and was a life member, serving as chief from 1994-1997. He was an Employee of the Town of Union from 1977 until retiring in 2021, and was an active member of the CSEA. He also worked as Sam's Club until his retirement.

Fred is predeceased by his parents Clyde and Esther Durfee. He is survived by his Son Brett (Kim); Daughter Brianna (Mike) Pompey; Sister Susan (Brian) Haight; Sister Marcia (David) Honsaker; grandchildren Natalie and Kiersten Godoy, Mason and Austin Durfee; Donna, Eric, Justin, Ryan Hyde; Many nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; many friends who are more like family at Brennan Beach and the Town of Union.

The family will be celebrating Fred's life on what would have been his 65th birthday, on Saturday, March 6th, 2021. Calling hours will be held at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home in Endicott from 11am-2pm. Masks will be required and social distancing must be observed.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the West Corners Fire Company. And a special thank you to Lisa Balshuweit for making sure Fred got to all of his appointments and helping in his care.

Susan and family. I was shocked to learn of Fred's passing. I have known him since high school. Fred was always out going, friendly and always good for a laugh. Grew up around Fred-he was quite a character yikes-remember trying to take him up to grass fire on the back of my dirt bike. He was a big man and had a tank of water strapped to his back, and I lost him off the back on the steepest part of the trail. I don't even think it phased him. May he rest in peace. T ORourke
