Jack (John) E. Pranitis
of Chenango Bridge
Jack (John) E. Pranitis, 75, died peacefully on January 27, 2009 at Lourdes Hospital. He was the son of John and Minnie Pranitis, Johnson City. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patricia (Guley) Pranitis; son, Paul Pranitis, North Pole, Alaska; daughter, Judeth Pranitis, Nashville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Kelly Pranitis, Medford, OR; grandchildren, Shannon, Justin, and Kaitlyn; a brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Margaret Pranitis, Rolling Meadows, IL; a sister, Beverly Railey, Towson, MD; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ruth Guley, Harpursville; and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Zinner, Binghamton; many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Jack was a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was employed as a Product Service Engineer at GE for 20 years. After his retirement, he was associated with the Binghamton Mets and the Chenango Forks High School Athletic Program.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's name may be made to Foundation for Cancer Survivors, Attention: Debbie, DePaul Center Lourdes Hospital, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
