Dear Cindy and family, I was very saddened to hear of Jim's passing. Far too young, such a good person. My heart was lightened though, seeing you have several grandchildren, wonderful blessings. I won't see you today, but you all are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Jim through my job with the health dept. He was always a bright spot in my days and a pure joy to be around. I remember one particular day when he and I spent about four hours on a Harley ride down country roads. He got me to help in starting the fishing camp which was a new venture for me but truly a real treasured memory. Although we drifted apart after retirement he was always a just a thought away and really there were many of them. You surely have a guiding light and his memory will comfort you always. God Bless

My family moved to NYS in 1973 and I met Jim that year because he came and spoke to the MYF at the Vestal UMC. Since then he's been a co-worker at Sky, my husband's boss at Sky Lake, my sons' boss at Sky Lake and a true and loving friend to all of the family. When my husband fell off a roof at Sky Lake, Jim was the one who sat with me for hours in the waiting room at the ER, talking with me, praying with me and just being the rock of strength that he always seemed to be. I know that my sons are better men for having worked for Jim and learned from him. What a blessing it has been to know Jim (think of how many thousands of campers and staff he touched over the years and the lives he helped to shape and change - WOW!) and, yes, every time I walk around the lake, I'll see him in the trees and the clouds and the water.

Cindy and family,
I was saddened to learn of Jim's passing. It was a pleasure sharing an office with him those summers I spent working as the Summer Program Assistant. I learned so much from Jim about trees, camping and enjoying the great outdoors.
I will not see you all on Saturday due to a prior commitment, but know that I will be thinking of you.

In peace -
Rev. Lea Harding

Jim Krager will be missed! May all Sky Lakers and friends take a nature hike and remember Jim the Forester and Executive Director. Contemplate the beauty of the forest. Be amazed at God's work. "Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these." Matthew 6
Jim knew me through my Ely family, he was one of my first bosses. (I got in trouble...) He threw rice at us at our wedding, coached me through nature hikes, helped me promote camp ministries. He was a mentor and friend.

Jim was my college roommate from 1972-74. I remember him as a man of great intelligence, humor, compassion and personal integrity. I share in your sorrow at his passing into the hands of the Lord.
