Marcia L. Mariano Obituary
Marcia L. Mariano

Endicott - Marcia Lou Fox Mariano, 81, has passed away peacefully on January 4, 2018 at her home in Endicott, New York. Marcia was born on October 7, 1936 in Chenango Bridge. Marcia was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Gabriel Mariano, by her beloved grandson Samuel Mariano Cohn, by her granddaughter Susan Lynn Mariano, and by her parents Brainard A. Fox and Marjorie G. Fox. Marcia is survived by her children, Steven (Denise) Mariano of Leavenworth KS, Diane (John Cohn) Mariano of Richmond VT, Joseph (Patricia) Mariano of Endicott NY; grandchildren: Stephanie, Michael, Elizabeth (Chris), Maxwell, Gabriel, Vincent (Trish), Victor (fiancé Pina); great grandchildren Austin, Emma, and Mason. She is also survived by sisters: Frances (Thomas) Hull of Binghamton NY, Marlene (Steven) Truex of Syracuse NY, Nancy Jean Fox of Ravena NY; brother Richard (Susan) Fox of Port Dickinson NY; many nieces and nephews, and by her dear Aunt Jeanne Ruffo, Chenango Bridge NY. She is also survived by sister-in-law Ann (Bob) Woods of Lynchburg PA. Marcia graduated from Binghamton North High School and went on to enjoy jobs in retail beginning with Montgomery Wards in Binghamton, then with K-Mart and Burt's Department Store in Endicott. She excelled at homemaking - loving to care for babies and in the care and nurture of her children. Spare time found her doing fine crafts such as painting ceramics (many were gifts for others), crocheting beautiful afghans and throws - gifts for her family, friends and Hilltop Nursing Home residents. She had a great memory of family history and began recording our genealogy; a passion which continues with her son Steve. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday January 10th at 11 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 West Main St., Endicott NY. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City NY. The family will receive friends at Church from 10 AM until Mass time at 11 AM. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made in the form of donations to the Sam Cohn Foundation at www.samstones.org.
