Nicholas P. Sorge, 80, passed away Friday, April 8, 2005 after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Florence and Raymond Reynolds; his sister, Stella Comfort; and a grandson, Adam Caro. He is survived by his wife of 30 years who he loved dearly, Bernice M. Sorge, Binghamton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nikki and Eugene Jaime, Lynn, Mass., Sandra and Robert Schena, Jupiter, Fla.; stepchildren, Dennis and Julie Caro, Athens, N.Y., Bruce and Mary Caro, Johnson City, Roseann and Thomas Shea, San Francisco, Calif., Sylvia Caro, Binghamton; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Francis Sorge, Colo.; one sister, Florence Hill, Binghamton; also several nieces and nephews. He was involved with his family business, Binghamton Painting & Service Co., for 30 years and was a retired employee of Links. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and a member of the V.F.W. Post 478, American Legion Post 1645, and Binghamton Moose Lodge. Nick loved to play cards and was an avid golfer. He loved and enjoyed all his family and will be forever remembered in their hearts.
Memorial Services will be conducted Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at 6 p.m. at the James V. DeMarco & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, N.Y. with Father John Martinichio officiating. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco & Son Funeral Home Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. Memorial contributions in Nick's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 356 N. Midler Avenue, Syracuse, N.Y. 13206.
