Sandra L. Gresham Obituary
Sandra L. Gresham

- - Sandra L. Gresham, 74, died peacefully on June 10, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Sandra is predeceased by her parents, Robert C. Ritner and Helen M. Parry. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry Gresham. Two children, Jeff Gresham ( Christine), and Stacy Robitaille ( Patrice). Five grandchildren, that were the light of her life; Alex, Ryan, Curtis, Emily, and Owen. Sandra is also survived by five sisters; Marie Corbin, Jane Gaffney, Bobbe Jean Benson, ( Don) Jo Anne Hanrahan,(Don), and Susan Ritner. Many nieces and nephews and countless friends, that think of her like family. When you knew Sandy, you knew you had a friend for life. Always willing to help, always waiting for the next project to dig her hands into and always fixing things for the better. Sandy loved nature, knew every flower by name and in her day, had the most beautifully landscaped yard. Walking, whether it was at the mall or outdoors, kept her not only in shape but also caught up on all her friend's lives. She loved lunches with her sisters, and dropping in for a quick cup of tea. She saw many broadway shows and one of her favorite vacation spots was Ogunquit, Maine. She was never without beautiful style and she lit up a room with her smile. She moved quickly, never staying in the same place for too long but when she was yours, she was all ears. She walked through life with a strong but graceful stride. There was " no grass growing under her feet", as she always had something to do and more appropriately, someone to help. Her greatest role was when she became a grandma. It turns out "Gia", would be her favorite and most endearing title. Adventures to the crick in the wagon, playing McGia's out her kitchen window or attending their many sporting events and games- time with her grandchildren was always time well spent. Her absence will be profound. We miss her already! Special thanks to her hospice nurse Patti. We could not have done it without you. To everyone at Mercy House, we cannot thank you enough for giving us the most beautiful, peaceful place to fulfill Sandra's journey to heaven. At her request, her family will be celebrating her life with a party in her honor, at their own convenience. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to Mercy House in Sandra's name.
