Thomas M. Howe Obituary
Howe, Thomas M.

Schenectady: Thomas M. Howe, 48, of Schenectady, died on Monday, February 10, 2014. He was predeceased by his father, Donald Howe; sister, Kristine Merry; grandmothers, Anna Howe and Louise Kearns. Tom is survived by his loving family: mother, Frances Howe of Endicott; brother, Daniel (Terri Smith) Howe; sisters, Suzanne (Bill) Balles, Donna (Ron Ferguson) Forsyth, Pat (Edward) Schappert, Carol (Richard) Zane, Nancy (Dan) Sullivan, and Mary (Dan) Ryder; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. After living at home with his family for 14 years, Tom became a resident at Broome Developmental Center. After five years, he was transferred to a special autism unit at the O.D. Heck Developmental Center in Schenectady. Tom treasured visits with his loved ones and charmed us all with his unique ways. He enriched the lives of all who were lucky enough to know and love him. Tom will be forever missed by us all. We wish to thank the staff at O.D. Heck, who have lovingly cared for him these many years. Funeral Services for Tom will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main St., Endicott, with Father Donald Bourgeois, Pastor of St. Ambrose Church, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. Expressions of sympathy in Tom's memory may be made to Catholic Charities of Broome County, 232 Main St., Binghamton, NY 13905 or Autism Speaks, ATTN Web Gift, 1060 State Rd., 2nd Floor, Princeton, NJ 08540.
