Olga (Tellep) Merritt Obituary
Merritt, Olga (Tellep)

Olga (Tellep) Merritt, 95, of Englewood, FL, formerly of Endicott, NY, passed away February 18, 2014. Olga was born in Uniondale, PA to Rose (Dragon) and Andrew Tellep. She spent her childhood in Olyphant, PA. After high school she moved to Johnson City, NY with her aunt. She worked for Charles and Jeanette Johnson in their home and banquets. She obtained a NYS hairdressing and cosmetology license and then enjoyed doing hair for the Johnson's and friends. On a swing at CFJ Park, she met the love of her life, Robert. He asked her if she would like a push; they were married July 27, 1940. During WWII she worked at IBM while waiting for Bob to return from the Navy. Olga was a deeply religious woman, passionate about and dedicated to her church. She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Roy) Lovesky; four step-grandchildren, Randall (Tami) Lovesky, Jon (Kristen) Lovesky, Brian (Holly) Lovesky, and Kristina Lovesky. She was proud to be called "GG" by eight step-great-grandchildren. She leaves this world to join her beloved husband, Bob; her brothers, William Sr., Michael, and David; her parents and loved ones. A special thank you to family, friends, and neighbors who assisted Olga in being as independent as possible until her move to Florida. The special care and attention provided by Tidewell Hospice, Port Charlotte, FL team will not be forgotten. Services will be held at a future date at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, Olyphant, PA, where she was a member growing up. Burial will be in the family plot at the church cemetery. Arrangements are by Pucedo Funeral Home, Endicott, NY. "Enjoy yourself while you can." O. Merritt
