Jane Foley Lacy
Recently predeceased by her grandmother, Elinore Foley, Jane, 27, Elinore's "favorite" granddaughter was called unexpectedly by God to be with her in Heaven on August 21, 2010. Our precious Jane was also predeceased by her grandfather, Joseph Foley; grandparents, Jane and Charles Lacy; uncle, Dan Foley; aunt and uncle Mary and Bill Stein. She is survived by her loving and adoring parents, Maggie and Charles Lacy; special Godmother, Kathleen Giles; aunt Patricia Blacker; aunts and uncles, Rosaleen and Bruce Drazen, Joan and Jerry Russin, Mary and Lenny Dick, Ellie and Jerry Donahue, Cathy and Mike Casey, Marty and Helen Foley and several cousins. Jane enjoyed being a Girl Scout for 10 years and made a kill from selling cookies! She graduated with honors from Chenango Valley High School. After graduating from SUNY Cortland magna cum laude, she worked as a substitute teacher for the Binghamton City School District. A vibrant, intelligent, comical young woman, with an infectious laugh and amazing eyes, Jane loved school, music, concerts, and traveling. She visited Europe three times in her short life and went cross country during the "Summer of Jane", as her Dad affectionately called it. She will be heartily missed by many friends and family who loved her more than she could ever know.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church on the corner of Robinson and Chenango Streets in Binghamton, on Thursday, August 26th at 10:00 a.m. The family will received friends at the Church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Arrangements are by the Thomas J. Shea Funeral Home, Inc., 137 Robinson St., Binghamton.
As Jane did, please consider becoming an organ donor or make a contribution to a charity of your choice in her memory. Thank you.
