Ivan M. Potter
of Lisle, N.Y.Ivan M. Potter, 72, of Lisle, N.Y., formerly of Laurens, N.Y., died Monday, January 14, 2002 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City. He was born February 23, 1929 in Oneonta, N.Y. the son of Arthur F. and Bessie (Walker) Potter. He married the former Helen Sipos on July 9, 1950 at the Elm Park United Methodist Church, Oneonta, who survives him. Ivan was raised in Oneonta and had served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He retired in 1987 from Oneonta State Teachers College as a Security Supervisor. He was an avid golfer, hunter and served with his wife very actively as EMT members with the Laurens Emergency Squad. Ivan and his wife, Helen, spent their retirement years in Yuma, Arizona. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Helen Potter, Lisle, N.Y.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Donna Potter, Conklin, N.Y. and David and Jeanette Potter, Lisle, N.Y.; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Betty and Graydon Bauer, currently residing in Florida. A private graveside service will be held by the family in the spring at Oneonta Plains Cemetery, Oneonta, N.Y. At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Laurens Emergency Squad, Laurens, N.Y. 13796 in memory of Ivan M. Potter. Funeral arrangements are by the Bookhout Funeral Home, Oneonta and Otega, N.Y.
