FREY, David E. Age 65, passed away at his home in Santa Rosa, CA on March 16, 2015. He was born in San Francisco in 1949, a son of Donald and Marjorie Frey. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sally Frey; a daughter, Sandy Frey; a sister, Diane Frey; a nephew and three nieces; and a sister-in-law, Barbie Matthiesen of Oceanside. Dave grew up in Santa Rosa, attended St. Eugene's, Santa Rosa High School Santa Rosa Junior College, and San Jose State. He worked in marketing for 30 years. Dave was a world renowned Dixieland Jazz banjo player, inducted into the American Banjo Hall of Fame in 2009. He is remembered as an incredibly positive and creative person. A funeral mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1244 St. Francis Rd, Santa Rosa. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22nd followed by a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave. Santa Rosa.
